Watched a 20-20 show that said women were put on this earth to procreate. Once a man has donated his sperm to the female species, he is no longer useful. Is this true?

That depends on the man. Some men want to rule the roost, doing everything, some don't. They just want to get in the way of raising a healthy, happy child. Those are the ones that should be considered a sperm donor.
Men who support (not just with money) their mates in all aspects of the partnership make good fathers. Parenting should be a two parent job, but sometimes one or the other go "nuts" and are not healthy for the child.
Every child has the right to know both parents and to form their own opinion of each parent.

There is a reason why it takes a man and a woman to make a baby ... because it takes a man and a woman to RAISE a baby. Unfortunately too many men have been told they are not needed so that is how a lot of them are acting. Women and men are so different and that BALANCE is what is needed to raise a child. Therefore, NO, a man SHOULD NOT be just a sperm donor.

It all depends on the situation. If a man fathers a child and he stays around to help take care of the child mentally, physically, and financially then he isn't just a sperm donor.
If he leaves and doesn't want to be involved then I guess he served his purpose.

Do you have any idea how much man bashing I've read on this site? It is a constant stream of ignorance from bitter women who cannot take responsibility for their own unhappiness.
