Scouts get tapes and emails and such all the time. Most likely, they will not respond to such 'wastes of time'. If you want to be noticed, keep getting good grades (or start) while you are still in high school. Apply to a well known college and if you get a scholarship, then play for that team. Scouts watch college games all the time.

Even if you can't get into the school you want, settle for what you can get, and when people see your potential (or lack there of), you will get offers to better schools. Keep in mind, the potential to get recruited into the NFL is very low. There are many players who are better than NFL players but they are never noticed...

1) NFL and college scouts monitor reports before going to towns, if a player is making a big enough name for them self in a state or region they will be noticed.

2) NFL scouts generally recruit from college players because the competition is college is much greater than in high school, the high schools got scouted by the colleges and only the best of the high schools get picked by them usually.

It's up to your coach. If your coach thinks you have the talent to go far then he must make the effort to contact colleges. It is extremely rare to go from High School to the Pros. The NFL use the college system to determine talent and ability. The NFL is a totally different level of play than high school. It is fast and furious. You must go to college to be recognized and proven.

If you do not have the grades for Div 1A college ball, many guys start with Junior College and play at that level. Once you prove yourself you can transfer to a Div 1A school. Again your coach will help you here.

If college is out of the question, your only possible hope is to enter an open tryout session with a pro team and hope you make the squad. This is rare but it has happened. In fact, there is a movie out now about Vince Papale of the Philadelphia Eagles starring Mark Wahlberg.

Good Luck my man!

Yes, scouts of all ability come to see talent.

However, since there are rules in the NFL about age requirements - even if Maurice Clarrett tried to "Buck" the system...

You need to focus on COLLEGE scouts... get into a good program and then, try to move onto the NFL!

***For those of you questioning my "Buck" remark - Maurice was the idiot from Ohio State University - BUCKEYES - who sued the NFL to allow him to enter the draft after his Sophomore year, instead of waiting until his Junior year as the requirements stated!

Whoah, slow down, pal. You need to play college football first. NFL has a rule that players cannot be drafted until THREE years after their high school graduation. So, basically, NFL scouts never come to high school games. Get your highlight tape sent out to colleges, and focus on that first.

You could challenge Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith to a dance contest or make an unqualified bid for election as Govenor of the great State of California. Just do not go joy riding with any Cincinatti Bengal players.

You have to get recruited in college first and if you go to a little no name school I would advise that you go to a school that is noted for college scouts recruting from there, usually a catholic school, thats if you think you are good enough.

send the scouts tapes, email them and make any kind of contact you can via telephone mail. The key is to be one of the best in the state because thats how they narrow it down

I would recommend sending game footage to the teams you would like to scout you. They will consider looking if they see potential in the tapes.
