I attend the university of california-Berkeley...Now I am a young black female from south central Los Angeles...There are people at Cal that look down on me like I dont deserve to be there...Do I?

You have just as much right to be there as anyone else who is attending that university. Be proud that you have made it to where you are. And keep telling yourself that any time some other student(s) look down at you. Try to ignore them and do the best you can in your studies. I'm sure you have friends there, so hang out with them whenever you can. If you have a good understanding friend, tell them how you feel. Maybe that person can help bolster your esteem and just by listening you can vent your feelings and possibly feel better about yourself. Some people can be such snobs but they are really narrow-minded and are actually hurting themselves more overall in the long run.

If you made it in the door you deserve to be there. I don't know what kind of attitude you are getting from other people, but that is their problem not yours. I assume you are there to get an education; do so. Demand an education. If you are there for a social life you may be disappointed. Sorry - get your diploma and move on with your life.

If you are there, you must have qualified to get in so you the answer is you deserve to be there, but there might be another college which you might feel happier and more comfortable attending.

Absolutely. Every American belongs in college. Get yourself a good education, then get yourself a good job using that college education.
