I think you can petition your Congresscritter to get you in there to speak on a topic currently in debate either in the House or Senate.

Otherwise, they're not willing to listen to ever Larry, Moe and Curly who wants to go in and have their attention There's not enough time in one lifetime...

bush and friends dont care if you pay taxes and paying taxes doesnt make u american ... your taxes do not go into the government they go into the federal reserve bank which has nothing to do with the government or ur status as an american its simply an illegal tax law that a quazi-legal bank got passed into congress to get rich off of the people. somehow people have connected being a "taxpayer" with being american hahaha ... its the "kings" system that got us into the revolutionary war in the first place... but yeah, dont kid urself into thinking the federal reserve BANK is part of the govt ...its a bank plain and simple profiting off of your taxes ... your taxes dont go to "uncle sam" or any of that nonsense they go right into the bank.... the same bank that prints the money and loans it to the govt on a fractional reserve basis ...so whatever they get in ur taxes they print out and loan the govt 10 times that amount ...and thats just the legal limits ... unfortunately the accounts of the federal reserve have never been audited so in reality they could pocket ALL your taxes and since they print the money all they have to do is just print out whatever the govt needs or wants and go buy gold for themselves with ur money from your taxes ... starting to see the corruption of it yet? ..and "yessss" as an american we should all have the right to speak...

We have taxation with representation. The representation that we have is in the form of our voted in government officials. If you have something that you want discussed, you should contact your local representatives/ senators at the local, state and federal levels. It is not realistic to expect an individual hearing at the capital. There is simply not enough time in the calender to allow every American a chance to speak.

If each of the 300 million Americans should have five minutes in the capitol, it would take 2854 years to get through all. That would preclude anything sensible to take place. Just like today :-)

Go to your state legislature district representative (lower house of your state's legislature). That person will listen to you rant for even longer than five minutes of you wish. What's best is that the state legislature can actually make bills and introduce legislation based on your ideas. So, by all means, 7am!

You can. Talk to your Senator or Congressional representative. There's your 5 minutes. You voted those guys in to speak for you.

There are 300 million people in this country. That's 1,500,000,000 minutes, 25,000,000 hours, 1,041,666.66+ days, 2,853.88 years. Even if only 10% of us took advantage of it, it would take 285 years to get us all in.

Take a number!

I think you should be allowed.

However your best option is to use that 5 minutes with the person you voted into the position of being able to speak for you.

Nice idea, and it would be a great thing, but completly impractical. Take five minutes and multiply it by the population of the U.S. Heck, cut it way back and just multiply by registered voters. You'll see that it would take -years- for us each to get our floor time, and by then there are new voters forming a line.

If each taxpayer was given 5 minutes, it would never end...there aren't enough minutes in a year for everyone to speak.
That is why we vote for someone to speak for us.
Talk to your Senator or Representative.

9-11. The security is exterme. Before 9-11, there are too many people to allow each to do that. That is why we elect represenatives.
