I do as you, place them right side up. It's been PROVEN that placing them rims down contaminates them and in turn infects the user that drinks from them.
And besides, who spends the MOST time in the kitchen? YOU, right? It's YOUR kitchen, therefore YOUR decision!
BTW: I do ALL of my glasses that way. In the case of rarely used 'good' glasses I wash them before I serve drinks in them. My very BEST stuff stays packed in original boxes and, again, gets washed before use.

When I was little my mom made us put them rim down because we had roaches and that way the bugs couldnt get in the glasses.
Grown up and bug free, I still do it out of habit.

Rim Up....Mine are never in there long enough to worry about dust, and rim down gets them contaminated with whatever is growing on the shelf....I don't clean those real often...or, er, uhm....EVER. lol

I actually alternate - rim up, rim down, rim up...they fit together better and make more room on the shelf.

I'd say that you put them rim down. That way you don't collect any dust, particulate matter, or possible insect leavings.

It's a matter of personal choice. I have them both ways in my cabinets. Mainly, I try to make the best use of the space I have.
