After a party is over, it's always the women that clean up the mess we men made.
We men have gotten the world into the terrible shape it's in now.
This party is over, and it's time to let the women clean up our mess.

The problem with a woman president is will she be someone running for president who is a woman or is it a woman running for president to be the first one. If she has a good head on her shoulders and can go with the issues and be respectable on the world stage I see no problem with a woman. Let us not forget about Queens Elizabeth and Victoria, both were good for England if I remember my history right so a woman can do the job.
But we don't need one who thinks she needs to be voted in just on the premise of being a woman and I think that is what turns people off when discussing a woman being president.

All things in their time. There have been female leaders throughout history. More recently Indera Gandhi, Golda Mayer and Corizine Aquino.
In our culture ,here in the US American men and women have a fear , admitted or not that a woman may not push the button in time or at all.
We have a fear that a Black President might not represent all Americans. Though many Americans thought Colin Powell could. Jessie Jackson was just the wrong man.
The same is true with women.
She would have to be beyond reproach, picking the best people for her cabinet , not just the best woman.
She would have to represent all Americans.
Personally, I feel America is ready, all we need is the right woman. Hillery?????

I have nothing against a female president just like I have nothing against any qualified person to be president. I just ask that they be honest, and not to make judgement until they see all the facts and not to pass off thier own problems onto another. What we need is a person that accepts blame for their mistakes and doesnt brag on thier successes. so i guess that leaves out a lot of people right off the bat, both male and female.

im not against a female president as i AM a female. but i think alot has to do with the fact that ALL our presidents have been males. some people dont like change, and just as in families, they see the dad, the male, as the leader or the dominating one. just so as in presidency, they want a male "leader". so people can now say, some will think they wont take a woman seriously or not look at her as the "leader" type. i know i know.....sucks : (

If a woman can be in politics, a woman can have her shot at any political role including presidency. We will likely see a female president one day but chances are really poor that we will ever see a Catholic female priest.

I would be glad to vote for Condi Rice. She is intelligent and capable -- and also gorgeous. If we are going to have our first woman president, why now have a pretty one as well.
I would not vote for one like has been VP candidate in the past. I think a Margaret Thatcher type would be perfect. Maggie never said, "I am here to represent us poor dearies. We are so equal and yet so helpless and fragile." She represented everyone, not just women.
The problem is the lieberals have run several women, but they ran as women's candidates, not national leaders. They were rejected.
And, Hillary is an insult to our intelligence!

The biggest problem a woman president would face is that too many other backwards countries dont respect women and wont respect a country with a woman leader

i am absolutely FOR it!!! the only thing I have wondered in my own ponderings, hoping that it WILL hapen sometime, is if other world leaders might try to "handle" her, you know, treat her different because all they can see is a skirt.
My guess is if that were to happen, Ms. President would have one AMAZING run in domestic policies, and I would pray that foreign policies would not be askew because of others' perceptions.
