Yes, it is very important to take care of all your health issues, including your dental health, especially while you are pregnant.

Dental problems can cause problems elsewhere in your body, and a good dental exam can be very important.

Just be sure to tell your dentist that you are pregnant, and tell her all of the medications you are taking, including all over-the-counter items.

Hi,Don't wait anylonger and go to your dentist before the tooth gets any worse. I am a dental hygienist and you will be find they probly will take an x-ray so that they can see what is wrong they will double up on the lead aprons to make sure everything is find but I will tell you that my ob-gyn said that having a dental x-ray is ok there is not enough rays going through to harm the baby. I will say that the dentist and the OB usually doesn't like doing any work when you get into your 3rd trimester. I would also do your 6-month cleaning appts because with you hormones you gums can get highly infected without proper care and maintence of them. I will let you know that when your baby takes yur calcium that the baby takes it from your long bones first before the baby will take it from you teeth. The reason for any teeth and gum problems after you have the baby is from not taking care of them while you were pregnant.

I'm only 15 weeks and my dentist told me that he couldn't see me unless i was about 4 months because they can't do an x ray cause of the radiation it might hurt the baby i've been having a few teeth thats been hurting me and i can't do anything about it i can only take tylenol nothing else cause you don't know whats safe to take when your pregnant unless the doctor tells you i've also have tried filling a ziplock bag full of hot water and puttin it on my hurting teeth and it does help me try that good luck and congrats on your baby

Let the dentist know you are expecting so he/she can use appropriate pain killers to do the work and for after the work is done if pain killer is needed...

In the meantime go to a drugstore and get some temperary filling

Brush your teeth well then fill the cavity causing the pain so you will not have to wait for the pain to subside while waiting on appointment...

Use baby ambesol to numb area while you brush it well if needed...

Yes you can. If you need some work, my OB said I could get a filling or a shot of Novocaine if needed. You should always get your teeth cleaned during pregnancy because you develop a lot issues-like bleeding gums because of the influx of hormones.
Sometimes they suggest to do in the second trimester or whatever. Be sure to check with your OB.

Yes...but you may not like it.. I went to the dentist on my first trimester and had a hard time with the dentist poking around my mouth...wanted to throw up!! They also wont take x-rays...which can be harmful to the fetus..
