Out of all the women I know, I am the only one that plays PC games. I don't mean just solitare either (I like to play solitare too). I like Bejewelled 2 and the Sims 2 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. PLEASE tell me I'm not alone!

WHOA! LOL, I'm one and my background is in medical science.

Yes... Lotsa adult women play computer games! Computer gaming isn't for everyone. My mother used to love playing mahjongg but she doesn't like the computer versions. She and probably the ladies you know are the less technically talented types.

Our peers include female lawyers, engineers, scientists and doctors, college students and other adult women, some with children, that play the Sims 2 for example :)

Aside from associating games with kids, maybe they are confused about the ESRB ratings. Like the Sims 2 is rated for Teens, --- but all that means is that it contains materials that teens and adult are more likely to understand than wee little children A) who do not know the importance of avoiding a social worker, B) the importance of life goals (according to personality). C) Engineering of beautiful homes. D) fill in the blank with whatever :)

I'm sure any of the nongamers will watch a G rated Disney movie or a PG rated movie (also rated for teens) with enjoyment. And some that have computers now never thought they'd bother to own one ten years ago.

About twentyfive years ago, the geekoids of the computer world were pretty sure that home computers would never hit off -- and of course, they were prohibitively expensive then.

If you're a member of the Sims 2 Official website, there is even a (retired) female medical doctor (who also has helped manage the BBS) that has stories in her blog about what it takes to get through medical school -- which she shares for her many young readers.

You're in good company. :)

at work when we are not busy are the only times I really get to play, I'm too busy at home with my daughter..
