Wrong category - but I agree with you 1000%. You've apparently been close to having someone hit you while driving and yakking - happens all the time. And cell phones should also be banned in restaurants, concerts, movies, plays and other places where they prove to be an annoyance to people. What can possibly be all that important anyway?
As for driving - Hang Up and Drive!!!

I agree with all of you. My job requires me to drive a lot of miles and you would not believe all of the accidents I have seen due to cell phones. For those of you who maybe wondering, yes I carry a cell phone, yes I wear a funny headset, and no I don't use my phone while driving. I will let it go to voice mail and then check it when I am stopped and off the road. Nothing is more important than my life or someone elses. Thanks everyone.

Yes and it is here in the state of New Jersey; but is never in forced unless they get stopped for something {Like an accident]. Now on one occasion I saw an idiot exiting on the on ramp from the Highway. Never broke stride on his phone holding it tightly to his ear. I had wished it was a gun. Now I get a ticket for not having my seat belt on. Now if I have an accident
I am only taking myself out no one else. The compulsive cell phone user come...on. What is so important and what is more your not that important.

I truly believe that if you have to have a phone attached to your ear at all times than you should be ticketed for using one. I do not mind the people with the wireless head phones, but I once had a girl cut me off and than wreck because first she was using her cell phone than trying to eat breakfast while putting on make up. Needless to say, after she severely wrecked her car, she was late for where ever she was going.

I can't stand it either...it's just another distraction, on top of people who attempt to drive and read the newspaper (which I encountered not long ago)...or trying to apply makeup, etc. In my neighborhood, they don't allow cell phone use while driving.
Besides, that's why there are hands-free devices out there. You'd think people would rather have safety 1st on their minds...for themselves, their passengers and other drivers.
I also saw a lady with her little dog climbing all over her back while she was driving, the driver side window was down & the dog kept hanging out the window. A couple of days ago, my mom told me she saw someone driving with their cat just lounging on the dashboard!

It's not funny. I actually agree with you to a cerain extent. I feel that if people are going to talk on their cell phones while driving, they should be required to use a hands-free head set. Some cell phone companies include these hands-free head sets with new phones...It's a good tool to keep both hands on the wheel.

They should arrested for impaired driving. Just today I went out to lunch (from school) and was nearly hit by some girl who was on her cell phone while she was running a red light.

I wish they listen to you and ban cell phones while driving, it seems that talking on a cell phone while driving is much more dangerous than drinking and driving
