Also, are those "packages" really worth it? (expedia, hotwire, travelocity, etc.) ... or is it cheaper just to buy everything separately? I'm getting air fair + hotel (no car).

Hi....I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow.....I got my deals separately and directly through the airline website and the hotel website. I consistently watched all the travel sites and ones I know have packages. I also checked airfare directly at sites and I booked my room directly at site never seeing it as cheap as I have gotten it. I am staying in an upgrade at the Tropicana for $49.95 a night! I am a cheapie and when I am going somewhere I get obsessed with getting the best deals I can.....I made my hotel reservation and called twice when I saw rates drop so I could get the lower rate. They were very nice about it.

Its actually cheaper getting it from a travel agent. You'll save even more if you get a package. 80% of hotels are booked by travel agents. Who do you think they are going to give the best rates to. By the way Hotwire, travelocity, etc are not travel agents. They are booking engines that simply display prices.
If you need a price contact our office.

Sometimes you can save a booking fee by using the hotel's own website and sometimes the online travel agents have special deals.

The cheapest is often to use a low-cost carrier such as SouthWest and book directly on the company website. They do not show up in your Expedia/Travelocity search.

Compare everything you have found to this website. http://www.utopia.worldventures.com

I found a rate that was $200 LESS than the Bellagio website through the link above.

I ahave also compared this link to local travel agents and found it cheaper on a couple off occasions

This website searches the entire web for published prices. When you look at Travelocity, Orbitz, etc... They are only looking at their inventory. The link I provided looks at everyones inventory, thats why they have gotten me good deals.....plus saved me a ton of time.

I try packages but most of the time they cost more than when I I buy my flight and hotel separately best to try both.

If you go to hotel web site and sign up for e-mail and players card they will send you their hotel specials.

if you want to travel up and down the strip for cheap buy an all day bus pass, just tell driver you want one, I think it's only $10

Your going to save about 100+ dollars buying a package deal because when you purchase a plane ticket, car and hotel you are using their site and they make money off of advertising, which they generously give to the customer.

first time we went, we got package. After that we book directly with airline and hotel. We check the airline website regularly, starting a few months before our trip, and watch for seat sale. we got club card at hotel, the first time, so now I phone them direct, and get Casino rate. 41.00 at Circus Circus. Since then, the hotel E-mailed me a promotion for 35.00 a night, plus coupon book....2 for 1 buffet etc.
so, hotel loyalty pays off.

You have to shop around. I've had luck both ways. If you have the time and the patience, price it out separately and then as packages on the various sites.

for me it was cheaper to get them seperatly.as far as hotel alone the prices were so close to the same on different sites it did not matter in the long run.
