Today in the U.S.
Torture and imprisonment without proof or a trial MADE LEGAL
Wiretaping without a search warrant MADE LEGAL
The U.S. says F the Geneva convention

So if we are no longer the vanguard and protector of freedom and liberty is there really any good reason for the U.S. to exist?

Tell me this is just a bad dream please!!

Friend, we have become them. Pure and simple. We have become everything we hate about the terrorist that we have in custody. Morally wrong, illegal, it just doesn't matter to repuglicans.

edit: all of this talk about the Geneva convention not covering these people. Have we lost right from wrong? I say yes. There is such a thing as human rights. Has Bush and his gang of thugs forgotten, he is suppose to be Christian, not so.

Welcome to Hitler Germany! Intelligent people or rather people with a conscience get that this is the end of these United States of America. The constitution has officially been shredded. Soon the concentration camps will open up in America. All Bush dissenters will disappear... This is a nightmare and a reality.
Wake up people!

Do the terrorists play by the Geneva convention?? I think not.
Bush doing illegal thinks, like wire tapping and imprisonment without proof? Again, I think not.
In fact, in most countries, you have to PROVE YOU ARE INNOCENT, not have to be proved guilty.
Besides, if you are doing nothing wrong, then you have nothing to worry about. Unless you have friends that are doing something wrong. If you are worried about imprisonment and wiretapping, then you probably have something to hide.
In a nutshell, its not a bad dream.....its just a reality in today's world. Stop your whinning, and face the fact....This is being done for the protection of the country.

I guess the chipmunk playing chess in your dream didn't mention to you that the Geneva Convention doesn't protect those out of uniform or those not affiliated with a legitimate army. So, in essence, terrorists are not protected by the Geneva Convention. Maybe the chipmunk just assumed that those who would ask such a thing would know what they are talking about before they said anything. I guess that's why the chipmunk won the game, too. Can I pinch you to see if you're awake?

The only thing we can do is to hold our Representatives and Senators accountable by the power we still hold, the vote.

Cast your ballot like your life depends on it, this time it does!

It is not a dream. It is not a nightmare. It is not true. If you actually read the Geneva Conventions (something the Supreme Court should try), they do not apply the terrorists. The only thing we have actually done that is being called torture is offering to return detainees to their home country. If the Geneva Conventions did apply, that would be the only legal way to release them. Trying POWs for anything they did prior to capture would also violate the Geneva Convention.

I wish I could.
Bush can now "disappear" anyone he wants to, including American citizens. No habeas corpus, no judicial oversight.

that whirring sound you hear is the founding fathers spinning in their graves.
