For me, when I go to paint something, I need to feel the emotion that I am portraying, otherwise it feels fake. Da Vinci never sold a painting in his life, but with his technique, he painted what he felt and what was his dream of creating. As is with most artists, there is an internal bond that they feel when they have a paint brush in their hand, or a pencil, or a sculpting tool, that just illuminates their life and brings out a sense of confidence otherwise they may not have been feeling.

Artist put a lot of themselves into a creation even if they are trying not to. It's inevitable. I draw to get my feelings out or just to entertain myself and have fun. It's actually a personal thing for me and most people never see my drawings. When people do they usually tell me I'm very good at it, but I can see all the mistakes, because I created it. I'm not sure that connection can be described exactly. if you do any art then you understand probably. If you don't do any art then you probably don't understand.

It depends on the artist and the quality of the creation.

For some, the creation is like a child.

For others, it's an excretion - what the artist sh*ts out to deal with whatever the rest of us call real life.

For most, it's just a mechanism to make money.

Soooo - child, excretion, mechanism. You choose.

My art is not the kind you'll pay for just yet... I have a lot of practise to do. However, when I see something beautiful it captures my soul and I can't wait till I draw it or I wait till I have the time to relax and draw.

I saw the eyes of a Firefighter a few months ago and it's been pulling at me to draw and capture that beauty on paper and add colour to. Those eyes that have seen far too much... I want to draw them dancing to the music. Maybe I'll show him someday.

In most of my drawing you'll find something that will capture you and make your heart melt. I add all my heart and soul into my drawings... or I don't give a crap and sketch it off until I'm all right enough to. It's a way to escape reality. Sometimes people tell me how amazing my drawings are, especially at the age of 16, they're great. But I'm the one who drew them and I can point out countless mistakes.

I define beauty in simplicity and freedom in a caring presence. I know the complete picture before its even done and make it a goal to achieve then treat myself to something I need...

Sometimes I wish someone else was the creator of my drawings so I can understand how/why people react to them.

Stay safe. - Maryam

I believe creativity is an ongoing process, evolving, growing and maturing.
I don't believe it can be quantified. Today if you created something why wouldn't you take that success and build on it. From one creation to the next there is a common thread that is tapping the creative juices within you allowing you to examine your world around you. The reflection of the canvas is what you have interpreted, much like looking in a still pond and seeing what is looking back at you.

Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passages we did not take.
Towards a door we never opened
Into the rose-.garden.
Any art form is a jealous mistress
Art is always a secret confession.

Art, is a sacred bond between the artist and his creation........
He/she will eat, sleep, breathe, life into his work, until it is finished to his/her perfection.

There is nothing, that stands between his creation, but, "imagination" itself!!

An artist puts a piece of themselves in their creation. It is part of them, and describes them. An artist is their creation.
