I dont want to make false accusations, but short of hiring aprivate investigator, how do i find out for sure. im out of town on business fairly often. And i have this intuitive feeling. He has said and done some things that point in that direction.

Put a recorder or a "pen register" device on your phone line (ask how at Radio Shack). When you come back, check to see who he called.
Or hide a GPS tracking device from a spy-store under your car. It will tell you where he drove, where he stopped, and when. See if he'll lie when you ask him where he went, etc.

My answer may be non-traditional... but I say go to the area where you think he's getting his prostitutes from, find the one you think he'd be most attracted to, and HIRE HER to go after him should he ever come out her way. Explain your situation to her, ask her how much she'd charge you, give her a way to contact you after the deed is done, and then you'll definitely know for sure. A hooker would probably charge less to sleep with your husband than a private investigator would charge you for days and possibly weeks of following him around to get practically the same kind of info. Good luck with whatever you decide... having a cheating spouse is always a crappy situation. I can always say though that if you feel like something is wrong, then it probably is.... :(

Your intuition is always right (when it's a woman) Have a close friend follow him some day/night. Or even so tell him you will be home on a certain day but show a day or two early and follow him yourself. Call some of the cochroach motels to see if he has ever registered with them. Good Luck!
