The chewing gum is made of a "gum base" with added flavoring and sometimes food coloring . The exact composition of gum bases is usually a trade secret, but common ingredients can be latexes (eg. leche, caspi, sorva, nispero, tunu, jelutong, or chicle, which is still commercially produced), paraffin wax or beeswax, polyethylene, polyvinyl acetate, stearic acid, and various natural gums.

The substance of gum originally came from the rubber tree. This type of tree is most abundant in South America. Children would go and gather the drippings from the tree ...which is not as sweet as the gum we chew because of the added sugars and flavorings. But they would run and play with giant wads of this rubbery sap in their mouths...just as content as modern day children with their bubble gum!

Modern chewing gum is actually a thermoplastic...polyethylenes or polyvinyl acetates. Some types of latex are also used. Throw in some color & flavor and there you have it.

Polyvinyl acetate is Elmer's school glue.

Ok i think you might be legally retarded...a simple yahoo search on gum would tell you that it's not. Try checking on stuff before you post a question like this. I'll never get those 30 seconds of my life back, thank you.

No, it's made from chicle, the gum of a South American tree. Look up the word chicle in wikipedia.org.
