My computer can be configured with either:

2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 2 DIMMs
or
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2 DIMMs

The price difference is US$150. Is the 667MHz worth it?

Thanks

No it would not be worth that much of a price difference. It would be better, but not $150 better. However that big a price difference does surprise me, e-mail me if you want more details as I think I might be able to help you better if I knew what kind of system you have and which specific sticks you are looking at buying.

you probably did not point out what version of homestead windows you're working, considering will additionally impact how lots increasing RAM will help your laptop.... yet, the main efficient component that slows computers is once you run out of RAM reminiscence. in case you have various classes (your information superhighway, IM, mail, and so on.) open, it would not take long to expire of reminiscence with purely 512. whilst that occurs, the laptop has to pick some thing at present working on the laptop and pass it out of reminiscence. It places it in a change record on the confusing rigidity. it quite is lots lots slower to get right of entry to then RAM reminiscence, so as that slows the laptop. you have probable considered it quite is you have been working with a super checklist and you bypass to scroll to a distinctive section. each and every of the surprising each and every little thing freezes for some seconds, and then the scrolling initiate. That as your laptop having to change that component of the checklist lower back into RAM reminiscence (and a few thing else out). in case you strengthen your RAM reminiscence, you will shrink the desire for the laptop to would desire to change out classes or archives. this might a great deal strengthen the fee of your laptop, considering swapping is between the slowest issues a working laptop or laptop does. oftentimes, increasing the RAM is the final, least confusing, and maximum inexpensive improve you additionally could make to laptop, and is strongly advised.

That's a matter of choice and whether that little difference in speed is worth $150 to you.

Doesn't seems like an awful lot of difference to me, but as I said, it is up to you.

We don't know what you do and how important that slight diffrence is to you.
