then he's not really a friend. a true friend would own up to the fact that he made a mistake in asking you in the first place, not try to blame it on you. you're better off without him.

I had a long term friend that I tried to go out with to have sex, but she didn't want to because we have been friends for so long. I agreed. the friendship was and still is more important then anything else. Friendship is important as family. If that person is a true friend then nothing should ruin it.

You don't sound very old. I think your friend kinda wanted to get in your pants, more than he wanted to be your friend. He broke up your friendship because you told someone, well you just gave him a really simple justification not to be your "friend". I would just use this as a learning experience, if he walked away, he probably won't be back unless you offer to sleep with him again. and that is not a friend you need

You're right that he's making excuses, but this is only because he's embarrassed and feels awkward and doesnt know how to deal with it! give it time and it'll beforgotten about before you know it, just keep conversations superficial in the mean time. Good onya for wanting to keep the friendship going, and he'll realise you're in the right eventually.

I have to agree with a previous answer... a guy like that isn't exactly a friend worth keeping. Yeah it sux that he tried to put the blame on you, but if he isn't man enough to own up to the fact that trying to have sex with you is wrong, then he doesn't really care about you as a friend anyway. Sorry hon... that's a crappy situation :(

Tell him you do not want to ruin the friendship by having sex.

I unno, feelings change maybe he has gotten different feelings about you, but just went the wrong way with them. Anyways I think itz best that you should stop seeing him (only because he wants to get away from you), give him some space.. and don't forget to forgive but NEVER! forget. Y'heard

He doesn't want to be just friends with you after you turned him down so now he's just trying to find a way to get out of the friendship. So let him off the hook, end it with him and find another friend.

You see from his point of view it's like you laughed at his manhood behind his back. He'll think of that every time he sees you from now on. There are only two things you can do at this point.
