You might try foregoing the powder or using a very translucent Mineral powder, translucent allows for a good finish without changing the shade. After using powder, take a face cloth (wet) and pat the entire face...this sets the powder, takes away any residue and works to keep the powder and foundation in place without problem through the day and into the evening.
Have you tried the Maybelline foundation, can't remember the name of it, possibly True Blend...it has a cream and foundation in one bottle...I found this to work very nicely and used no powder, didn't need it.
Exfolliate...then use a mixture of Vitamin E and Almond Oil...at night and in the morning...foundation goes on much smoother with this...be certain to have it quite absorbed into the skin before applying the foundation.
The Physicians Formula is pretty decent as is the Max line...
Good luck with this.

maybe you are using too much? or maybe you are not letting the moisturizer or foundation dry before you apply the powder?
Make sure that the foundation is completely even, and don't overuse..that gives a cakey look. If you have a Macy's or Marshall Fields or a similar store by you....they will give you a free makeup consultation right in the store.

Try letting your moisturizer dry 10-15 minutes... then apply your foundation with a sponge (not your fingers)... then use a light foundation with a big round brush... just dust it on.. no need to rub the powder.

Why not try Estee Lauder? you will not need anything else.
They have so many shades....I buy mine at Macy's or order it on line. It makes your skin so soft and stays on all day.
I even use it when I go to bed. After my bath, etc. I reapply the liquid makeup, because without it, my skin becomes so very dry.
At Macy's, call them first. Sometimes they have a person there,
that does makeup on you, and you will find the right shade.
I have used it for 45 years...I am 67 now...believe it or not, I do not even have wrinkles....It's great!! (p.s. I do not use any power, with it...only the liquid foundation.)

Use a sponge to apply your foundation from the hairline. If you aren't over forty, ditch your foundation. Use a concealer instead, and don't rub- pat it in. Then use a professional, animal hair, kind of rounded brush to apply loose powder to set your makeup.... Look around at your local drug store, get some mattifying/blotting paper and use it to press off oil. Gently press off oil, instead of mussing up your face...
BTW, use suncreen!!!!

you have way too many steps for your makeup. i'd skip the mosturizer and try Bare Minerals- it's amazing. use a light concealer for underneath your eyes if you need to, and your makeup will stay all day.

maybe you're putting too much on. or maybe your liquid foundation is too thick and creamy. use a more watery one that will allow your pores to breathe, and it won't cake.
