Gosh, I have both of those things. I am not a doctor or nurse but I am experienced in what does work for me. I know stress (severe) and conflict causes migraine's for me. My nutritionist recommended black current oil for the endometriosis and my pain really did go away, when I took it. I can't take imitrex but I can take Zomig..miracle migraine spray. I know when one is in endometriosis and/or migraine pain your whole world can stop. I hope and pray you can rest. I have to work no matter how I feel. I will pray for you. It's hard to pray for yourself when you are the one hurting. My best to you...Diana

I have had migraines since I was 11... all the women on my mom's side of the family have pretty bad migraines, so it wasn't a big surprise. I had a MRI done about 4 years ago because all of the migraine medications had quit working, I was then referred to a neurologist... it was found at that time I have early MS, which honestly isn't near as big a problem as the migraines. The neurologist prescribed Neurontin 300mg, which is a seizure medication for the migraines (and some for the MS). I can take up to 3 capsules a day as needed, it works pretty well... it does make me "fuzzy" feeling if I take 3. By "fuzzy" I mean that good kind of feeling you get when your drunk but not too drunk, it also makes me a little drowsy... I am definitely impaired and could not drive, but can function normally otherwise (I can take care of my family, but some fine motor skills are a little harder at that time, LOL). Neurontin comes in a generic form, that is much less expensive than the brand name (even with insurance). For 90 capsules of the generic, with insurance, I pay $15... 90 would last me a month if I had to take 3 daily everyday to control the migraines, but I only take them maybe 2 time a week.. so 90 may last me a month or several months. For milder migraines: Have you also tried a head massage (my husband is great at these)? Neck massage? Warm (not hot) bath/shower? Warm compress on the neck, cool compress on the eyes? Putting pressure on the webbing between your thumbs and pointer finger? I keep ORIGINAL Dramamine on hand... if I am paying attention I know when a migraine is going to make me sick, well before it makes me sick... and the Dramamine helps a lot... but make sure to get the original formula not the less drowsy... the less drowsy might as well be nothing...

I do not believe there is a direct link between endo and migraines. I have both. I was diagnosed with moderate endometriosis at 19. I only started having migraines at 26 after a severe spinal cord injury. If you are having migraines, talk to your doctor about treatment as many over the counters do not work on them. Also, if light is aggrivating when you have them, try getting one of those sleep masks to block the light when you're having one until the meds can take affect.

they could or could not be related. there is a problem with the blood vessels in the uterus causing endometriosis and the narrowing of blood vessels in the head can cause migraines along with increase of dopamine. migraines can usually be prevented by watching your "triggers" in a lot of cases certain foods or smells. migraines around your menstruation can sometimes be treated with birth control pills so your estrogen and testosterone levels don't "bottom out" at a certain time which can trigger a migraine.
