So I've been trying to loose weight after being pregnant for 3months...and it's about 2months after my miscarrage...I would like to go on birth control again, but don't want to gain weight from it. (I was on Depo about 2 yrs ago and I gained some weight) I don't know too much about side effects from birth control..and would rather go on a pill then the shot or patches... can anyone suggest a pill that won't cause weight gain? Thank you!

Depo is the only birth control that has been proven to cause weight gain. The pill, the patch and the nuva ring will not cause weight gain!

Nowadays pills won't cause weight gain and they are good for your skin and ovary. It's the best way for birth control to women.

Go check some medical reports, or talk to a doctor.

I didn't like taking the pill because of side effects etc. Why don't you try and IUD (Intra Uterine Device). The Dr has to put it in, but it's fairly simple, and you can leave it in for up to 5 years. There are no side affects, and you will forget it's there. I used them for about 20 yrs.

U may want to consider one of the latest oral contraceptives 'Yasmin'. It does not cause as much water retention as the rest and thus have been proven to not cause as much weight gain.

as far as I know..I've never heard gaining weight is a side effect from birth control.
you just need to watch what you eat, and don't over do it!
