What can you apply to brass door handles to keep them from discolring and tarnishing? We just wet sanded them and want to keep them looking good and are unsure what the best thing to use would be. Any suggestions are greatly apprecieated.

Brasso can be purchased at any local hardware store, it is a brass polish, kind of like a wax, you apply it, then rub it off after a few minutes, it's what we use at the fire station on the pole...

Brasso will certainly keep brass clean, but will not stop it from getting tarnished in the first place. If you dislike cleaning brass, you can lacquer it, or `coat` it, with a clear varnish. This virtually seals it so that it can not get tarnished. Ask the guy in the hardware shop or D.I.Y. store. It is good stuff.
