Absolutely not. The salt in the sand will screw up your PH and theres probably little critters and parasites that would hurt your fish, even if the sand has been cleaned. Dont do it, you will regret it.

i take advantage of organic rocks in my tanks. Take the rock, scrub it lower than warm water and make certain any airborne dirt and mud/mosses/algaes are off. Then, submerge the rock right into a pot of water and boil it for round quarter-hour. (make certain the water is boiling earlier you time it) After the rock has cooled down, Take some white vinegar and pour it over the rock. anticipate a short at the same time as, about 5 minutes or so, and in case you spot bubbles forming contained in the vinegar or on the rock, you keep in mind that the rock will launch chemical compounds/gasses into your tank- for this reason you shouldnt use that rock on your tank because it will be unsafe to its inhabitants If the rock doesnt make bubbles, rinse all of it perfect in warm water again- enable it cool and upload it on your tank :) be conscious: do no longer use cleansing soap at the same time as cleansing the rock wish I helped
