You're probably going through "sticker shock". Consider it's work done by hand, should last basically forever if done by an experienced craftsman. get 2 other estimates, make sure they are licensed, insured, etc, and they should be able to provide you with recommendations and places you can see examples of their work. The roofer that put our metal roof on uses our house ( with our permission ) so people can see an example of the finished product. GOOD LUCK, it sounds really pretty; oh oh instead of a straight path, if you can have it curve a bit,,, amazing how it is more appealing to the eye.

well it is a lot of work and hard on the back but you should be able to do it yourself for under $1000. . the Time-Life books are good guides. You will need to did about a foot deep the entire length and fill in with sand then lay gravel and sand then your brick but it can be a satisfying do it yourself job that can be done without a lot of fancy tools

It seems a little high to me. What kind of pavers are they using? Do they have to excavate for base? Are they bringing a machine in? Are they doing any other work at the same time?

I live in Kansas and I had a quote on putting in a new driveway once, I don't know if it will help , but, here it is. I got a quote for $8,000 for a driveway 8ft. wide and 60ft. long and 4inches deep.
