You assume that there will be two expansions teams which I am not sure professional baseball is expecting to do at this time. Other than that, it would not be a terrible idea. Would you eliminate the wild card then?

I'm gonna use my own expansion teams (Portland and Charlotte) if that's okay with you.

AL:
East: Yanks, Red Sox, Orioles, Indians
Central: Twins, Tigers, Brewers, Blue Jays
South: Rangers, Royals, White Sox, Rockies
West: Angels, Athletics, Mariners, (Portland)

NL:
East: Mets, Phillies, Reds, Braves
Central: Cubs, Cards, Pirates, Astros
South: Nationals, Marlins, Devil Rays, (Charlotte)
West: Dodgers, Giants, Padres, D'Backs

I switched the Rockies over to the AL, because they don't have much history in the NL, and don't they seem more like an AL team anyway? I moved the Brewers back to the AL like the old days. I tried to follow the divisions from '69-93' as much as the divisions today. And I really think the Cubs and Cards should be kept together as much as Yanks/Sox.

Huh? Where do you get the idea the AL is to expand? Why would any team be put in NO at this time? Makes no economic sense post-Katrina.

That AL South is a wacked out mess, The travel would be brutal.
Logically, you go Tor, Clev, Det + 1 in that region (maybe Buffalo or get Montreal back as their fans got screwed by MLB from '94...that is a GOOD baseball city...go look up the '80s attendance?)
Bos, NYY, Balt, TB all in same time zone and on same coast.
Minn, ChiWS, KC and Tex--same time zone even if Tex is a bit out there.
Sea, Oak, LAA + Vegas I can live with.

The NL is a mess as why would you separate the Cubs and Cards?
NL West is fine.
But no matter how you slice it the NL is a geographic mess as you really need the Cubs, Cards and Brewers in same div.

Good luck with this.

well first off, i'd agree with the one of the person about post-katrina expanding a team in new orleans. also, the wild card is taken out which i also think is a bad idea. with wild card, second place teams actually have a chance to make it, so in a way they are competing with other second place teams in other divisions. if you regroup it that way, it's just basically competing with 3 other teams to make it to the playoffs.
