I love the show and I am glad they are getting these idiots off the streets, but I just wonder how it is not entrapment for the guys that come to the house.

It's not entrapment because law-enforcement can prove the intent of most of these predators. They do this through the chat-logs and if you'll observe, most of these guys show up with condems and other specific items they've been asked to bring by the decoy that proves what their motives are/were.

Entrapment occurs when law enforcement entices someone to commit a crime. For example, if I were to approach an undercover officer who is posing as a prostitute and offer her money for sex, I have committed a crime and it is NOT considered entrapment. However, if the cops have good reason to believe that I have a weakness for this kind of crime and send the undercover officer to my house with offers of sex for money, that IS entrapment. With the show you mentioned, by the time the predators enter the house, they have already done enough to be arrested. They've entered online chat rooms and requested sex with someone they thought to be a minor. The perpetrator initiated sexual discussion. These things are carefully choreographed to insure that the operative does not make the offer, but merely follows the perpetrator's lead.

entrapment is only when the authorities leave you with no other choice but to commit the crime. 1st of all, people conducting the "chatroom" set up are not the police...and they don't say "hi, i'm 13..either come over and have sex with me or i'll blow up your mother's house" ...
