Yes. My husband is pretty intuitive so he likes to start doing before reading and I usually have to gently remind him to read the manual. He has learned after putting a few things together backward that it is probably a good idea to read before you start.

When I dive in, the lights are out and I can't see any instructions.

Ha ha - yeah right. I'll sort of skim through the instructions and then dive right in!!! But then I eventually have to go back and actually read it, because...well...I just have to!

I usually dive right in when I should have read the directions. I just get so excited.

Do you mean like on a homework assignment or test? Well, I would like to say that I always follow the directions, but the fact is, that sometimes I don't. I guess I just get in a hurry or on some things think "I know it all" hehe, when I really don't. So, I don't always follow the directions.

If it's something i'm familiar with i'll give it a go for a few minutes. If it's not obvious in those few minutes I stop and hit the instructions.
