It seems like 9 times out of ten, when someone is arguing against gay rights, they always end with bestiality.
For example, I just read in someone's answer to another question, "Gay marriage! What's next, people marrying goats?"
This makes no sense to me. I don't see any connection between the two and this constant referencing is confusing me. What's behind it?

Because having sex with an animal is as deviant as you can get, and they are trying to make homosexuality more deviant by associating it with such filth.
To me, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a toaster.
If you try hard enough, you'll find a link, no matter how obscure or nonsensical it is.
As I like to point out (but, surprisingly, I am generally ignored) the comparison is flawed because one involves a relationship of consenting adults, they other involves a party being forced to do something which they are unable to consent to.
That is why homosexuality is not illegal and bestiality is.
And because they really have no reason to be against it, they scrape the bottom of the barrel to dig up poop like that to justify their anti-gay stance!!!!!

Well, welcome to the wonderful world of the North American Bigot.
The NAB
Welcome to the National Display of Indigenous Dangers of America.
To your right you will see the Greater North American Bigot (or NAB for short), notice the curvature of the hands which signify a grasp of religious icons and Ideology with which it uses to bludgeon it's prey. Make note, although it uses religion as a weapon, very few NABs have actually even read more than a few passages in their Holy Book except when used to justify their innate violent tenancies. Many Sub-species of the NAB exists, this one here doesn't have the curved hands as it uses Insults and Taunts as well as the Computer to belittle it's opponent, note the bright yellow streak seen on the spine and belly, this is an indication of its overall cowardice. The NAB has several unique abilities, not the least of which is to twist reason to its own ends or ignore it altogether, it feels threatened by Any form of change especially if that change does not affect them, it makes them feel ignored and somehow inferior. Another more disgusting habit of the NAB is to fling feces at any and all who do not bow down to its every whim, it acquires this feces, oddly enough, by placing its head up it's own rectum.
The NAB is found throughout North America Including Canada and Mexico and can often be distinguished by it's cries of "Liberal, Left-Winger, Homo, Atheist, and most often Geezus or The Bible Says" followed by nonsensical Justifications of what it feels Others rights should be in order to increase it's own self-esteem and sense of self worth. At this time a Small Warning is in order, Do Not attempt to engage the NAB in reasonable conversation, it becomes confused when it's own falsehoods are turned back upon it and begins to howl and fling feces at all who stand near.
Thankfully the NAB is an Endangered species, the later Generations of it's young seem to be showing signs of evolution and growing past the denial stage of it's existence and becoming accepting of new Ideas and Better ways of living that aren't Legally restricted or forced on others by acts of dominance and pack-like thugism. While on the Internet, Yahoo Message Boards, although you cannot see the actual NAB, you can hear its sad cry, but be cautioned, their desperation does make them extremely nasty, so therefore the Internet Message boards are Not for the Faint of heart or easily offended.

It's a common ploy of rhetoric, if you can't plausibly refute the other sides position, you say "In other words" and then make up something you can refute and falsely claim that they said that. Then you ignore their actual argument and attack their character. Likening homosexuality to bestiality is quite popular among the religious reich, the idea being that if one is disgusting then so must be the other. It is further supported by the custom in Victorian times of calling gays "sodomites". The legal definition of "sodomy" is oral or anal sex, hetero or homo, even between spouses, or sex with animals, again linking the two in popular usage.

My reaction: i do not understand what the remediation application consisted of. If it changed into to make her attentive to how her moves would have infringed on the rights of the LGBT community then I say, honest sufficient. the student is entitled to her beliefs and the college can not infringe on that. yet, the college also has the duty to make certain that the ambience is danger-free for ALL scholars, no matter if which skill some mandatory instructions in sensitivity for faculty youthful toddlers who've confirmed hatred for yet another crew, no matter if minority or majority. i'm no longer following the hyperlink because it would not influence what i imagine. The decrease of somebody else's freedom of idea is the position it starts to infringe on my liberty. If she changed into violating yet another student's rights through being illiberal then the college must be able to stress the count number.

It's only a wrong perception of gays, they made comparisons to make an effect on people who listen 'em, but of course that's ridiculous. I read about the interracial marriage and in those times the opponents said the same exact thing..

Logic and sanity escaped them long ago. These are people who work (if they can get a job) at McDonald's as a janitor (nothing wrong with the job, it is the only one they can get...if they can pass the test for reading and writing. Their arguments grow thin, so they throw in inflammatory bull that has no foundation in reality. Unfortunately, others of their ilk are always there to yell, Amen. And truthfully, I doubt seriously that his kind of stuff has you confused in any respect. You see, as I do, the tissue thin layer they represent. In the end, they don't effect my income, my possession, and any aspect of my life. It takes every bit of their brain power to pose the questions, poorly written as they are, and they are left with the babble handed to them by others...probably their parents who passed all these terrific genes on to them. If I were they, I would sue!

Complete idiocy. Let me just point out that countries with gay rights are doing just fine. No one has attempted to marry an animal there.

People have a need to justify their bigotry, and when confronted with something that they can't justify their bigotry on, they resort to insults and illogic.

Nothing better to say against us. There is no connection between our lifestyle and bestiality, it is just something hateful to say in defense of their so-called beliefs. Peace.
