The fan may be running, but the power supply may still be bad. It's a common problem with eMachines. I know, because I've replaced two of them and helped others do so.

Hi,i have a EMACHINE now for 8 years.Do you hear anything when starting. The XP sound tune should be audiable.Check the video card.Change it with a known good card.Or it simply may need to be re-plugged into its slot. Also check the monitor connection at back of your pc.

Uh Oh. My emachine is 2 years old January 07.

Monitor? Are you sure it's plugged in correctly?

try holding the power button in for a few seconds. If that doesn't work try unplugging the power source and plugging it back in.
