My son is my son in every respect, and we have a somewhat good relationship. The problem is; he is not my biological son, even though we look somewhat alike. My wife doesn't even know that I know the truth either! I had been told by a doctor that I couldn't father children, so when he came along I was happy about it in a way, but was torn in another. I had my suspicions, so when DNA came along, I had to know the truth. I must say it has been hard to live with knowing the truth, and I wonder if I should tell him the truth or just leave it alone? This seems a no win situation!

30 yrs, if you did that other mans job right, this will be a problem but not as big if you dont tell him, he has to find out and know the mother for the tramp she is,,, he needs to contact his real father and you need to be moving along without a woman like that...

I think you should let him know. Just for the sake of knowing, cause he's basically a grown man, and you've done your part(assuming). Still its a decision you'll have to make on your own, i'm just giving my opinion. Think it through carefully.

TELL HIM TELL HIM TELL HIM!!!!! He has every right to know, and he's old enough to understand...if you have taken care of him all these years, and played the role of his father he will have even more respect for you for leveling with him.

sounds like you should talk to your wife first since she is the only one to know who his bio father is. then if you decide to tell him, tell him together.
