we have a fantastic relationship and are very open about everything. he certainly doesn't need to be chatting with others about sex. i was totally hurt and almost ended our 5 year relationship. he has done it before and is always very sneaky about it, is always very sorry after and swears he'll never do it agian. i need 100% trust and am finding this very hard to do at the moment.

Yes most definately because basically you are alienating your partner. You are doing something with someone else just for the thrills. You should put that effort into spicing up your relationship instead of going for the easy option. It will only end in heartache. I divorced my husband because of it. And just because its not a physical in the flesh type thing...the betrayal, mistrust and hurt from it are just the same as if he'd slept with someone. Its just not worth it at all.

it all depends on the people and they way they think about things i think.

Have you been together long???

If i was you i would sit back and access the situation. What has been said between your partner and the other person, was it just typing words or was there webcams involved??Do and you partner talk regually about sex together and try new things sexually together?? If you dont talk about what ech other wants sexually through being to frightened to say to each other or you dont know how to talk about it together, this could just be their way of expressing they sexual thoughts in a diferent way.

You also have to remember that on the internet not seeing anyone face to face they can be anyone you can be in a chat room and be someone totally different, say you are a male 6ft bold 45 and married on the internet that person can be male 6ft3 25 stylish etc do you see what i mean. So with this in mind if he is unable to speak to you about certain bedroom things for whatever reason he might think you will think he is weird or something, then he can be someone totally different and no one knows who he really is and talk to another female to see if they think he is strange or weird for thinking what he is thinking. or vice verser if it is a female towards a male.

If you love your partner sit them down and talk to them find out exactly what they are thinking and why they did it and go from there. Dont throw away something you want for something that is not worth throwing it away over, if a simple chat can solve their issues and yours to.

Good Luck hun

Not every relationship is the same. It is all about the boundaries you have agreed. Honesty is vital. Did your partner tell you this was happening or did you find out by accident? Where you have been told what to expect, you at least can be prepared, if you find out after the fact, of course you will feel hurt and deceived. Talk it out.

as someone who does this every day, (i am female) I don't consider that I am cheating on my husband, although I do care deeply for a guy that I have met, maybe I am fooling myself. I don't know, but I do know that when I can't get to chat with him online I am so miserable. My husband doesn't know, so he isn't hurt.

I think it is a bit of fun when people do that, nothing harmful in it. The problem arrives if they decide to meet up and physically do it.
