I'm in my sophome year in college and in a year or so i'm planning to transfer to another university (really far from my house). What type of job (part-time) can i get? So I can pay my expenses; I don't want to work too hard because i don't want to mess my grades...I've been thinking about modeling (Some people say I can get a good money of it). I'm not so sure I just would like to get something to do that i can make money from. any realistic recomendation?

There are a ton of places to work on campus usually. The library, offices, food prep. I worked at the libary, it was real easy and paid well.

You can work at resturants near campus.

Modeling can be hard to get into, make sure you get a good agency or else you're definately going to be asked to take off your clothes. And if you're into that, then you can make more money stripping.

To get into any good modeling agency, you have to be above 5'8" or you will not be accepted. Usually, they prefer around 110lbs, unless you have a real toned look going for you. I'm not making this up, my roommate is a model.

On my campus, you can make a few hundred dollars doing a softcore shoot.

If you're intelligent and want to go into grad school, consider working as a lab assistant, or research assistant. Looks real good on a resume! Especially for pre-meds or other science.

Whatever you do, don't overload your work schedule because you'll be real sorry when it's crunch time for midterms and finals.

The best job to get while on campus is one at school. The down side is that they aren't the best paying jobs in the place you are probably going to school. The upside is that they work really well with your schedule, so you can take the classes you need, and often you can get your homework done while working at an on campus job. If you really want to get a job that is offcampus, it is better to look for part-time office work, answer phones and such. They give decent pay and normally will work with your schedule fairly well.

Jobs on campus don't pay well, but there are plenty of them that allow you to study while working. Many library jobs, student assistants in academic departments... Generally you're only allowed to work 20 hrs/wk.

You could try getting something work study from the university you will be attending,
you could end up doing one of many things that way. Tutor, work in the library, assist a professor, they have many options.

If work study isn't available you could waitress at a local resturaunt, work at a video store, maybe babysit evenings and weekend.... you could also go to a temp agency and see if they have something for you.
