Which product is actually the best for removing mold and mildew stains in the shower? I have used all of them (Tilex, CLR, Oxyclean, etc) and none of them really seem to work. Can anyone suggest one that actually removes the stains?

Rubbermaid mildew remover is the most excellent product I have ever used. They sell it at Walmart. It not only removed mildew in the shower,it removed it on a painted overhang that is drywall. Also off a diving board, and some brick work.I did it about 3 weeks ago and still hasnt come back.

I have had the best results with X-14 (I think that is the number I know it is X something :). It works as well if not better than the new tilex. You just spray, wait and rinse. No scrubbing!

If the stains are not coming off, then you may have a bigger problem with water getting underneath and mold coming through from below. If the stains are in the corners, caulking may have failed and need to be removed and replaced and you have less of a cleaning issue and more of a project.

Good luck!

Vinegar works on mildew. but the best we have used for stains is called The Works and is a dollar at the dollar stores. Bar Keepers friend is like a Comet cleanser and is sold in the grocery stores and that works too.

Living in South Florida I know all about that stuff. Get a spray bottle and some unscented or lemon scented or other not so bad smelling Clorox and mix 1 part Clorox to 3 parts watter. Spray and let it sit a few hours and all will be gone. Done forget to open the windows if you have them.

I definitely know for a fact its TILEX. We had terrible mold on our shower ceiling in Germany and one spray of this stuff knocked it out! I tried other things and they never worked. Good Luck.

The best stuff I have ever used was actually a toilet bowl cleaner called Sno-bol

I used it to clean the shower once when company was comming and I ran out of scrubbing bubbles.
You aren't supposed to use it to clean your shower,
so make sure you use excellent ventilation and gloves.

It works wonders!

I think scrubbing bubbles and after letting it sit for 10-15 min. scrubb with on of those round brooms for cleaning spider webs, websters from the dollar store. Works great and doesn't break your back.
