Because her father wouldn't stay out of their lives. He was always trying to control her. Plus my 9 year old is more mature than her. If Jessica was put in downtown New York with no money she would never be seen again because no one is there to tell her what to do.

I think it had something to do with the fact that Nick was hanging all over other women at parties and it must have made Jessica REALLY jealous! Plus, Jessica is kind of a ditz, soo...
Nobody really knows, they just weren't "right" for each other.

Maybe cause that way Nick's cd would sell. Otherwise he couldn't get any attention on his own or sell his music. I think their whole marriage was a business arrangement. They both became super celebrities and super rich after their marriage and MTV's newlyweds. Before that they were not very famous and barely mediocre.

I used to watch the newlyweds show and he would always pick a fight with her over spending to much money! I think it was jeallousy that split them up! but it their personal life why get so involved! She is so pretty and kool he is egnorant and jealous! â¥

maybe he finally realized that she's dumb, and only using him to boost up her own career and probably got sick of her witting songs about him
