It is not necessary to be a sovereign nation in order to have an ambassador. Definitions 3 and 4 would apply.

1. A diplomatic official of the highest rank appointed and accredited as representative in residence by one government or sovereign to another, usually for a specific length of time.

2. A diplomatic official heading his or her country's permanent mission to certain international organizations, such as the United Nations.

3. An authorized messenger or representative.

4. An unofficial representative: ambassadors of goodwill

A. Wrong, Dude, the Vatican is a country. The religion thing in the constitution says nothing about ambassadors to other countries, what ever their religious orientation may be. That is not establishing a religion.
B. The UN is a violation of intelligence, not a violation of the constitution.

a. Vatican City is a sovereign state. That is enough to declare it a country, although sovereignty is not required to be considered a country.

b. The UN is not a violation of the Constitution, and your statement implies that America's Constitution should rule the world, which is ridiculous.

The Vatican is indeed a "country". It became a state in 1929 (the Lateran agreements). The UN is no violation to the constitution--American is blessed to have the UN seated in New York City.

Violators of the Constitution do not give a rats **** if they are in violation. The 'religious thing' was written to keep government OUT of the affairs of religion. Not the other way around. Try to remember why we are here in America! Why was there a mass exodus (sowy, angryamerikn LOL) from UK to HERE?? RELIGIOUS FREEDOM!!!

And yes, the U.N. is a violation of the Constitution. Sheesh!

yes... Vatican City is a sovereign nation...

and the UN is the United Nations... NOT the United States, they don't have to abide by our constitution... they have their own governing laws...

Reagan got Congress to change the law in 1984 so his friend could have the position. It was a bad idea then and it should be stopped.

That's what happens when Americans vote based on image instead of substance.
