the engine light was not what blinked. it was the D4 light on my shift lights on the dash. does anybody know what the code is?

Well a 7 code is the TPS sensor but that "I don't think" would be blinking at the D4. You can try at our group. We have some good techs there. Also I can look up in some of my programs and send you some info.

I would suggest starting over, and try again.

If the same thing occurs, then most likely there is a failure in the transmission control, and will require some expert information from someone from COTTMAN'S or AAMCO. Both of these chains will offer electronic diagnostics for little or no money, and have finally gained a reasonable reputation with most state's watchdog agencies.
