Great responses so far!
Karma is the Sanskrit word meaning "action".
Most of the time it is used to refer to the present reaping the results of past actions. Much more important than this, however, is the implication for present actions. In Buddhism, there is no such thing as destiny. To change what happens, we change our actions. Because nothing exists except in dependence upon the causes, by changing our actions, we cause change in our life & our world.
It's very empowering. To accept karma in the Buddhist sense of the word is to take responsibility for the path of one's life.

Karma is the things you do, say and think-the law of cause and effect.
Very very deep-study it and you will become an extraordinary being-but don't tell everybody-or anybody.
