Anyone got any ideas on what happens in the burmuda triangle?

What makes the instrument panels on planes and freight ships screw up? Then what happens to them. Any ideas let me know?

Some say it is where Atlantis is and the crystals used there for technology are still charged and cause the instruments to be screwy. But I think the one about methane gas escaping from the sea bottom is more likely.

The answer is that there are huge deposits of methane gas under the crust of the ocean floor. When this gas escapes in large quantities or "clouds" they instantly change the physical properties of elements the cloud comes in contact with. On a smaller scale, the gas affects instrument panels by confusing them so they can't read the Earth's natural magnetic fields.

When large amounts of methane escape, the gas literally boils the ocean water in the cloud, thus changing the density of the water. This is what causes ghost ships and in some cases they "disapear" completly. When a ship is unfortunate enough to get sail into a hot spot, because the water has become less dense, it sinks until it reaches the bottom of the cloud. Any crew that was not boiled to death drowns, and once the methane reaches the surface, the water gradually returns to it's natural temperature and regains it's density, it forces the ship to the top, and a ghost ship is born. Ships that "disapear" are still on the ocean floor due to circumstances (my chemistry instructor didn't specify why, but guess would be that the ship broke).

This concept applies to airplanes and causes strong turbulence effects where the plane feels like it's falling.

There are other huge methane deposits around the globe, but the only one that comes to mind is the one near Iceland, where these instances are much more frequent that in the Bermuda area...

There are several theories on that. One it that there is some sort of unusual electromagnetic activity that interferes with instrumentatin on planes and shipt as well as communication. This could be a natural phenomenea caused by the facht ath the Earths magnetic field is changing, and ahs been for well over a century.

As for what happens to air or water craft...the most recent theory is that they are sunk, or pulled won by a release of underground methane gas. when th is is released it alters the bouyancy factor of the water, causing ships to sink. This also effects the aerodynamic qualities of air as methane is less dense than air and thus planes cannot stay airborn and fall at a much faster rate than the normal 32 feet per second per second. That combined with the electromagnetic phenomena could account for what happens there. At least as far as scientific theories go these days.

Other, less scientific ideas that have been put forth are that there is an interdimensional gateway that opens periodically and swallows up what ever is there and that the energy of this opening interferes with navigation and communication. There is also a thoery that these craft are being taken by extra-terrestrial spacecraft for examination, experimentatino and the like.

Personally, I like the scientific explaination best, which is odd for someone who believes that the actually IS a lock ness monster but that is another tale for another time...

Electromagnetic field disruption and or in combination with the gas theory.
Don't remember where I read it but the gas theory holds up with ships, due to it displacing the water. But does not hold up with modern day aircraft instrumentation.
Hence I feel it must be a combination of both. But guess time will tell and if/when more studies are done on the area.
One thing is for sure the Bermuda Triangle is not the only place on Earth that has physical anomalies

initially its BERMUDA. You do have a spelling checker. Do us all a favor and use the challenge. Its no longer confusing. truly. Secondly the region itself has never been defined precisely some disappearances claimed got here about in parts some distance from any rational association with the area. like the Pacific Ocean. Thirdly comments about the triangle disappearances are almost universally in preserving with FIRST money owed. Newspapers will joyfully print sensationalist memories about ships being discovered afloat with the crews lacking. large tale. It sells newspapers. Later even as that's got here upon that the ships lines grew to develop into untied and the boat floated faraway from a dock, the tale, if apparently in any respect, will be buried in the again pages. no one likes to be proved stupid. Its the nature of the files organisation. anybody will keep in mind the first money owed. And any mess ups, even with information, are continually extra to the legend, a minimum of through human beings that like legends and do not really like information or reason.

I think this will aways remain a mystery.
I do however wonder if the government has anything to do with it. Perhaps an under ground world we know nothing about....secrets passages to get there. Strange how no bodies ever surfaced. Is it the twilight zone or the government....think about it.

well, my Dad read the book years ago on the Bermuda Triangle...and somehow when they enter the area where it is like a triangle....the instruments go hay wire???? why??? they don't exactly know...But the planes and some ships have never returned...it is scary....But you would have to look up CURRENT INFORMATION IN THE LIBRARY...MAYBE THEY'LL HELP!! HOPE SO..

this explains about the methane hydrate phenomenon.
incidentally, deposits have been found off the coast of Norway, along with evidence of a giant explosion of these gases some 9/12000 years ago. enough to change the climate and end the last ice age! powerful stuff eh? Btw the russians have plans to mine this substance.

I think scientists have been saying that gas below the surface being released quickly can account for a lot of the events

My great uncle dissapeared in there, he was a pilot for the military (forget which branch) on a training flight with some other planes, I think that they all were lost.
