I've pulled the pin out of granddad's souvenir hand grenade and accidentally dropped the pin down a crack in the floorboards. I'm typing this appeal with one hand- What do I do next?

stick a sewing needle through the hole where the pin was. If the spoon flies off, throw it out the window.
By the way, hand grenades have two safely locks over the spoon so if the pin is pulled, the spoon does not fly, and the fuse does not light.

I would seal that crack with some caulk so some insect doesn't crawl up on you and make your nose itch while you are holding that grenade.
