80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

The "true meaning of life" is different for each person. Life does not have a preset pattern dependent on events fulfilling predetermined meanings. We assign the meaning to events in our life after they happen to rationalize the events with our own view of the world. Not to say that life is meaningless, life is full of events that all can have profound meanings, but they are all different. But that is only the events of life, while some may define life as a succession of events that occur during a period of existence, if we want to get more metaphysical, the meaning could be, to serve a god, to accomplish a goal, to follow a life path, to be a vessel for a wandering soul, or possibly as Mr Adams said, 42.

You need to define the true meaning of your own life and not be thinking there's some answer out there that you need to be looking for.
If you make your own life mean something to you and /or to others in your own way you will have no reason to be asking about the true meaning of life. Seeing any true meaning of life isn't something you go looking for. Its something you end up discovering you have after you've lived your life in way that is positive for you and/or other people.
Does anyone know some univerisal, true, meaning of life? Unlikely. Have a whole lot of people discovered that they have found their own versions of it? Yes. Does a genuine meaningfulness that is individual rather than a clearly universal truth have any less truth to it? Not necessarily.

The true meaning comes from within, happiness is the key. The meaning is living your life all the way threw and always learning nobody knows why or who put us here. But I will tell you this we are not alone but we are at home. If we all knew exactaly what was going on life would have no magic and no meaning.
The true meaning of life is not knowing. But just living

The true meaning of life involves treating others as you want to be treated. It involves taking care of our planet, our animals, and our food and water sources. It involves being satisfied with what we have and not envious of what we don't have. It involves us being ready to lay our lives down for the person next to us. It involves us looking out for individuals who are less fortunate then ourselves, like helping homeless people. Finally, it involves a love of life to the extent of having a love for those around us.

Yeah, I think I do.....Everything was made by him(Christ), and for him. Now....Look at Rom.9:21thru23 - "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump(family) to make one vessel unto honor(Jacob) and another unto dis-honor(Esau). What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath - FITTED to destruction.
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, - which he hath afore prepared unto glory.
Rom.11:22Behold the goodness, and the SEVERITY of God.
That's all scripture... now, my comment: I'll bet you never heard anyone preach on this part of Rom. Ch.9. Do you wonder why?
Ans. Everyone loves to hear about the love of God; but not about his severity.

Everyone knows, but we have such a clutter of words and beliefs that it's hard to get to. If you go somewhere in the wilderness where you're surrounded by nature for several days, you will remember and see it all around you.

Of course people will claim to know. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are correct nor that there is a true concrete meaning.
