I have to agree with you. I mean I think that knowledge of the universe is quite interesting, but the amount of money that we spend on it is unbelievable. We could use that money for many other things such as exploration for energy sources and research into alternate clean energy sources.

hehhe! good question. well. for me i think we should explore our own planet first. Its so ironic that a man already reached the moon but they haven't reach the deepest part of the ocean on Earth. funny isn't?? its gonna be such a waste if they'll miss the natural wonders of our planet. ahhh.. didn't they realize that in the deep seas they can find alot of alien like creatures that we haven't seen before and whats so fascinating about this was: when some marine bioligists explore the deep seas.
They just discovered different species of animals that appeared in Transparent skin. They wonder how these creatures survive without sunlight or any source of light at all. Amazingly, when they turned off the lights on their ship. These Creatures Produced their own lights and it appeared in different colors as well. and you know where did they get their lights??
In a bioluminescence bacteria. and some of them their body just evolved to produce their own lights.
Fascinating isn't?
=)

I think that it is unfortunate that we do not focus enough on space exploration. Only a small portion of our research effort is devoted to space. There are a multitude of disciplines involved in research of our planet, and they report new findings almost daily.

Yes, but we have to do so in a responsible manner. If exploring space is about setting up missile systems, no. If it's about learning about the universe, great. It just depends on how we do it.

What do you suggest, that we fire all the astrophysicists, astronomers and cosmologists and force them into the Earth Sciences? Maybe we should shut down all the planetariums.
Look, people study what interests them. In the U.S., people are allowed to select their own major and pursue any subject they like.

it is not necessary that you know one thing completely before you start knowing other
best thing is to start knowing basics of everything then going on to complexities of each
like in lower grade you were taught numbers and alphabets at the same time,
just think how much time you will need you were first taught language completely until you master it then to start with mathematics then with other subjects
This way we are actually using the time to its best

Yeah i think so, but maybe we should be studying more here also. I heard that we know more about the moon than we know about the bottom of the oceans
