I have a four month old ferret, she has a slight cough. It kinda sounds like shes trying to cough up a hair ball, do ferrets even get hairballs? I know if she keeps it up shes going to the vet any way.

mine have never had a hairball and they are six years old. she could be getting a cold (been there done that, got antibiotics, fun to try to get a ferret to take antibiotics) or she could have a cut in her throat (been there also). one of mine cut his throat eating a piece of corncob litter and it sounded like he was coughing, i brought him to the vets and they looked in his throat and he had a cut.. again, i got antibiotics... no more corncob litter for him, i switched to paper.. so it could be a few things, best to get her to the vets to make sure she's ok.. good luck, hope she's well!!

the least perplexing element i might recommend first is to grant him some Ferret Lax or Laxatone(made for kittens, yet some ferrets desire the style.Hairball, kibble, muddle, even though would be making him cough, this might help.be careful with a vaporizer.i could be anxious approximately how healthful which would be for him.We shop a humidifier in our ferrets room interior the wintry climate b/c the warmth has a tendency to be very dry.If those issues do not help, get in touch with a ferret smart vet.desire I helped and he stops coughing quickly:)

They get hair balls, give her a little bit of butter and see if that helps her cough it up. But it could be allergies and other things to, if she isn't better tomorrow take her to the vet.

how long has she had it?
my two ferrets cough some times but only once in a long while.
it could also be her age.
what type of litter are you using, she could be allergic to it.
