The rod could be tension or be able to drill into ceramic tile

yep, walmart target home depot loews...if you can't find anything you will have to buy a dowel that is really big, just make sure you get the end pieces it fits into...so you get the right size. you can have the hardware store you buy the dowel at cut it for you...but loews is your best bet more user friendly...

If they don't come that size or if they cost a bundle you might check on dowels and have it cut the size you need and they sell the cups that hold them to the wall. You can stain or paint it the color you want. Just an idea.
If you are drilling into ceramic tile make sure you have the right drill bit and drill the hole before you screw the cups into the tile. Careful!

Get a tension.. NOT the drillable type.. DO NOT DRILL into the ceramic when it is not necessary.. You can get any size at any hardware store.. Walmart's, etc

You may have to buy a piece of plumbing pipe and put it up with cups that fit it. You could use a piece of chain slipped in a piece of plastic tubing and hung to each end with hooks put in the wall.

Check a specialty store. Check Home Depot & Lowe's. Also check Sears, JCPenny, sometimes they have that. If they do not u probabley can order it.
