my battery was dead so it shut off by itself then I plug my power cord and I am not able to start it again. Do you know what key I have to press to turn this computer on? I already press on power on but nothing appens .

opon startup it may prompt you to press f1 to override its self protect feature or the computer may have hibernated and you may need to press the sleep or hibernate key

Pull the battery out of the system completely and try plugging it into the wall and trying again. Make sure you're using a good, working outlet. Your power button should be very obvious - that's what will start it. If you still cannot get it working, you'll want to call IBM's tech support as you may have a failed component. It does happen sometimes.

Idk about the power button but there was a big IBM battery recall. You should check to see if your battery was included. There have also been battery recalls issued for Dell, Apple, and Toshiba laptops.

if its batteries are dead then you'll have to get a new battery you should've got a dell laptop there really nice but if you just want it for one purpose then i guess thats ok too.
