Love thy neighbor as thyself is a line from the Bible in which Jesus breaks down Jewish Law at that point in time to it's most basic elements. Preceded by love the Lord God with all your heart soul and mind, this directive is a request for us to take into account the needs and desires of others as we live our lives. A corollary could be made to the Buddhist theory of Karma, in which the universe treats us in the way we act. The basic philosophical drive of love your neighbor as yourself is the obvious truth that if we all try to treat each other better, the world will by definition be a better place. (Also hidden in that statement is the directive to love yourself, which is often to overlooked in our modern society)

We all want to feel the "power" of love, weather it be, of a man/woman relationship, or a friend, a parents unconditional love, all, and many kinds of love we have tasted and embraced.

We should love ourselves, sometimes this is a lot harder to do than we think, but in order to love someone else, we must first love ourselves.

Then we are capable to love our neighbours, our friends, our country........and the beat goes on!!
We must "love" freedom, in order to give that same gift to others, and to honour and respect the differences between nations, religions, race, etc. etc.

We must, learn that lesson all over again, and never forget it for a moment. As you can see by the mess this world is in, we had better get moving in that direction swiftly, if we ever hope for world peace. This is one of the most important "commandments!"

Treat others the way you would like to be treated... Give them the respect you feel they deserve, and show them the respect you want to receive..

It means love people just as much as you love yourself. It may be hard to do it, but you love that person for who they are, not what they do.
