Depending on who is giving the compliment, I may be appreciative or suspicious of their motives--are they searching for someone to look up to or trying to butter me up? I think this comes from being in a position of authority much of my day. I absolutely appreciate constructive criticism since I am always trying to improve. So, I guess constructive criticism wins! :-)

I take complimets better, I mean, who doesn't like a nice comment?
But, I always prefer constructive criticism because I feel it helps you more in the end, as long as you don't take it in the wrong way. But you can always tell if its mean or its true and you don't want to admit it

Don't need compliments when I know what I did and am pleased with myself. My preference is constructive criticism so I can build on it.

Compliments because they spur me on to do even better. So often any kind of criticism is given by people who are not informed or capable of giving advice.
