~Once, after I had about 6 bowls of chili and a head of raw cabbage, washed down with a quart of beer and some warm Pepsi, my butt burped and I cleared the whole church. (had to sit there in my own pew) Man, that's power. Stopped the wedding, too.

I clicked the button to answer this question, and paused for that recollection to click in, a moment when I felt really powerful, hmmm, nothing really fits the bill, I've flashed through thoughts of the birth of my first child, but that was pretty nasty, and I relinquished all power at the realisation that even though the doctor had let me got 16 days over, then induced me, he had failed to diagnose that my baby was in breach position, and I had to be anesthetised and put through emergency surgery. I managed to deliver my second child naturally, but felt kinda helpless through that as well, if it was going to go bad, theres nothing I could have done about it. I've had some pretty great career moments, but right now, I can't think of a really powerful feeling, I'm sure I've had them, gee I'll have to get back to you on that one...................

Me and a dude named Terry ran a female modeling agency in Detroit. We were the only female agency in the city. At one point, we had 50 models. We did a publicity stunt downtown with the girls in bathing suits. We rented 2 limos and stopped traffic so bad that the police told us we had to leave the area. All the brothers wanted to be down, all the women wanted to join this company that gave them so much attention. That was a high in my life. Probably the closest I've ever come to having an ego.

Tricky..depends on what you mean by "powerful". Power lorded over others is fear. At work, when I can be nurturing, supportive and respected by those that work for me, that is the absolute power. But power is not used to belittle or coerce others. I guess power has gotten a bad rap, we need a new word!

That was actually today. We were debating on a story in English class and I made a great point. The ones on the opposing side were speechless. They knew my point was right. I felt so powerful and like I had control over them because they couldn't even speak. It was great.
