My sister in law is 8 months pregnant. At the beginning of her pregnancy she bled just like a period. My brother took to the hospital and the doctor did not know at the time whether she was miscarrying. She tried not to stress and after a couple of days the bleeding stopped. I know that being pregnant can be very stressful. I myself have 2 kids. Try to relax and put your trust in God.

It isn't unheard of that someone has a bleeding episode while the pregnancy remains ok. The fact that you say the bleeding is not as heavy as your usual period is a good sign. Crampling at the time of a period or other mild cramping can be normal in early pregnancy.
Often, though, bleeding (particularly this early) and cramping together can also mean the end of the pregnancy.
I know you want to tell yourself everything will be ok, but using a little caution about being too confident about the pregnancy is wise for any woman who is as newly pregnant as you are.
Can people have this and have everything fine? Yes. Usually, though, the bleeding is on the lighter side. It looks less hopeful if the bleeding seems to be a little more "at full steam".
The earlier it is in pregnancy, the higher the risk of miscarriage. Its really common. Over especially the first trimester or so you will want guarantees that all is fine, and there just aren't any. There aren't any guarantees even when a person is father along.
You just have to kind of put that need for guarantees away and try to not to let yourself get way too invested in the pregnancy at least until its closer to the end of the second trimester. Some people prefer to think all is well until they hear otherwise from a doctor (or until it becomes obvious to them) and just be ready to deal with anything bad that happens if/when it comes.
You're so early into it at least if something is wrong you wouldn't have gone too far before you find that out.

Everyones first instinct is to tell you to go to the ER, but if your doc couldn't tell, they probably can't tell yet either. Listen to your doc. If you are having a miscarriage, it is too soon in your pregnancy to stop it. I know it is hard, but try not to worry. When do you go back to the doc? If not by monday, than I would go to the hospital then. Some people do bleed and then have a healthy baby. There is no way that anyone on here can give you the right answer.
I hope everything works out for you and your baby!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK, and try to take it easy until you go to the doc!!
