CyberDave,
If people did not work on Friday nights, we would have no restaurants or clubs to go to, no movies to see, no jazz to hear at the museums, no coffee to drink afterwards, no security guards to keep the lunatics out, no life guards to make sure the drunks don't drown, no place to buy our groceries with no crowds, no place to pick up some ice or gas when we need it.
We wouldn't have any electricity, gas, water or phone because, though customer service closes at the utilities the rank and file makes sure that we get service (though this may not be the case for SBC).
The meat packing plants as well as other food plants would have to stop production, sanitation and maintenance.
Refineries would shut down processes which give us gasoline and synthetic materials.
I could go on and on.

Some things have to be done on friday nights. If you don't like your schedule, find a new place to work. I'm sure you can find the classifiedseither online or in the paper if need be.

Dont be ridiculous, I think only women should work Friday nights, because after years of equal oppotunities they still are not able to earn as much as us men ,so the extra hours being paid to pour our beers should help balance this out.

Hey, you can always lobby your congressmen.
However, some businesses, such as bars and restaurants, do most of their business on Friday nights. Where would you go to drink or have fun if no one worked on Friday night?

Sounds great in theory except for when you want to go out to eat, see a movie, etc., this sort of legislation could be problematic. Not to mention, anyone who wants and has to work should be able to have that freedom. Other than that, helluva an idea.

Ask the barmen where you appear to spend most of them.
Mogger - when do those of us who work do our shopping, or take the children for a day out, or watch football? Get real.
