If it takes a few seconds to go into gear and usually happens after the vehicle has been sitting a while ( a couple of hours or longer) and works fine after this, it could be that your filter is partially stopped up, seals in the transmission themselves are getting hard or that the pump in the transmission is going out. Have it serviced and see if that helps, if not you may be due for a transmission overhaul.

Your asking a question with multi answers.
could be a throttle position sensor (TPS), could be a vacuum leak, could be worn valve train, could be engine timing is off, could be clogged fuel filter, PVC or air filter, could be spark plug wire, ignition cap and rotor, spark plus, or could be in the transmission valve body sticking if the transmission fluid isn't been regular changed, worn or clogged fuel injector, could be water in the fuel tank or a brake that wont release all these things can cause a vehicle to hesitate could be in the 4wwd system also if the front axle is locked in and has been under used, porly maintained or worn out IE worn u-joints.
Take it to a quality ASE shop that you or your family and friends trust. For around 1 hour of labor they should be able to tell you with some assurance what it is and what it will cost you.
Best of luck

Sounds to me like you need to give it a fluid and filter change. This is relatively inexpensive, and could make a difference. The best answer I can give is to take it to a reputable place(I would take it to the Chevy dealership myself), because there are a number of things that it could be. Torque converter not working properly, internal fluid pump not operating at 100%, valve bodies clogged, belts inside tranny stretched, etc., etc. Figuring it out on a hit & miss basis will cost as much or more than taking it to the Chevy dealer, and even after spending a lot of money, it not be fixed, which has already happened to you once.

first u should know if the clutch is engaging the gearbox.if yes then check the rear main shaft is in proper position check the universal cross it might be jammed .u can jack all four wheel and start it engage the gear release clutch slowly check if rear wheels r moving.if not then try using 4x4 engage it and see if front wheels r moving if they move it means there is problem with ur rear shaft or the rear universal cross.u can also move the rear and front tires by hand and let someone else check if the shafts r moving.if the shafts r moving in neutral then there is a problem with ur clutch and pressure plate or the pressure bearing is worn out u can replace the bearing .i hope this will move ur veh

Because you have a sticky valve in the valve body. You can get another valve body (new) for around 150 bucks. There is a tranny treatment you can get to help out, but I have never had much luck with those. Just put on a new valve body. Good luck.
