As a man, I can understand how your fiancee feels. I know that he and I are in a minority, but I am the same way. I KNOW beyond any shadow of a doubt that I would pass out if I had to be in the delivery room. I once passed out when my grandmother was in the hospital, after watching the monitors she was on. Please understand that if he says that he can't get over his problem, he is not saying that to get out of going into the delivery room with you, and it is not that he does not love you enough to do this, but to some of us this is a serious problem that we can't get over.

Poor guy! For the longest time, my husband wouldn't even say the word "tampon", let alone go to the store and buy them. If the conversation revolves around my uterus, he changes the sugect. Men are such weenies! He got upset when I went to the OB for my first pelvic! I think it will be a big surprise when our baby comes out. All the cheesiness and blood and screaming. He will probably hit the floor.

Maybe you should consider having someone else in the delivery room-a passed out daddy will be no help. I had my mom and my hubby with me cause I was afraid my hubby would pass out. He didn't and was actually amazed at all I had to go through. It gave him a lot of appreciation for me. maybe a best friend or your mom could come too? Your fiance may need emotional support as much as you do to see you in pain.

Perhaps it would be best if he waited in the waiting room. Although, this is one of those events that nobody who is a father should miss. Maybe, have him focus more on you (i.e. you face) and let the doctors take care of the goings on at the other end.
I know that personally, I was right at the exit zone for all 3 of my children and my first son came out via cesarean. A truly amazing experience.

As your pregnancy progresses hopefully he will start to get excited about the delivery. Especially after he sees ultrasounds of the baby.

That sounded just like my husband!!! He just didn't look he stayed by my head and looked at me almost the whole time. My baby wasn't that bloody though. What helped him was watching the baby show on TLC. I taped it during the day and we would watch it at night together. He will do fine my husband did!!! Good luck!!!

If he can't handle it he might have to cheer you on from the waiting room.
