My question to you would be,,,Is the mirror framed?

If so, use flat mending plates, found at any home improv. store or hardware store, buy appropriate screws, attache the mending plates half on the mirror back and half on the dresser back.

Hey, kooltymz here.
I've read the answers that have been offered you and I've another suggestion based on a question posed by by your query. I notice that you say that it is a large mirror. Large mirror tend to be heavy ...warning; top-heavy as in through time the mounting merely with plates at the bottom of the mirror and the top of the dresser will undoubtedly raise the possibilities of the mount and hence the mirror to be wobbly.
You can stabilize your mirror by simply taking any cheap "1 x" (one-bye) pieces of wood that are long enough to go from the bottom of your dresser to the top of you mirror (just short enogh so as to not be exposed over the top of the mirror).
There should be two of them; dividing the mirror into thirds, put one at approx. one third way from one end of the mirror and the other equal from the other end. Put a screw in each at the bottom of your 1 x into the bottom of the dresser, one into the middle into the dresser, one into the base of your mirror, and one at the top of your mirror. Cheap fix, eight screws, ample support. Never have a wobbly mirror. Good luck.

You need the heavy duty braces that look sort of like hinges. Something that will hold the mirror frame upright at the appropriate level. Also some heavy duty screws to go into the brace on the mirror frame and also on the back of the dresser.'
